About

ALEKSANDRA VIKTOR is a contemporary luxury fashion brand founded in 2019 in Berlin by Polish-born designer and entrepreneur Aleksandra Jagdfeld. It brings centuries-old craftsmanship into dialogue with modern design — telling the story of fashion's true origins through one iconic wardrobe essential, exploring heritage, artisanal skill, and the timeless conversation between past and present.

THE CRAFT

The ikat fabrics used in ALEKSANDRA VIKTOR pieces are handwoven in Uzbekistan on ancient hand looms, in a remote valley that was once part of the legendary Silk Road — a place so difficult to reach that the traditions practised there have remained virtually unchanged for over 2,000 years. Aleksandra has visited these artisan communities many times — not as a buyer passing through, but as a guest, sleeping in their homes, breaking bread with their families, and bearing witness to the extraordinary skill passed from generation to generation. She personally knows every artisan and their family behind each garment.

Ikat is a traditional dyeing technique in which the pattern is created before the weaving begins. Threads are carefully tied and bound before being dyed by hand — the bound parts resist the dye, forming the design. This process is repeated with different colours to build complex motifs. Because every step is done entirely by hand, every piece of ikat fabric is slightly different — distinguished by its soft, feathered edges, a true mark of authenticity. The resulting textiles are exceptionally delicate and narrow — only 45cm wide — preserving the purity of this centuries-old craft.

THE MISSION

ALEKSANDRA VIKTOR puts an emphasis on the ritual of wearing something that takes us on a journey — to a place, a feeling, or a deeper sense of self. In an era dominated by fast fashion, the brand stands for authenticity, transparency, and the beauty of a slower, more meaningful process. Every step of production is open and traceable — celebrating the people and hands behind each garment.

Ikat weaving is recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Each ALEKSANDRA VIKTOR garment requires between 40 and 120 hours of hand-weaving by master artisans, using silk threads dyed with natural pigments in a process unchanged for over 2,000 years. By choosing ALEKSANDRA VIKTOR, you are not simply buying a garment — you are participating in the preservation of a living tradition, and supporting the artisan communities who keep it alive.

Aleksandra lives in Berlin, with her husband Julius and three kids - Viktor, Golda and Adam.
