Roberta Ikat Silk Cotton Coat
Glowing blocks of saffron yellow, coral red, petrol blue, white and emerald green, floating on a deep aubergine ground — a joyful, almost painterly ikat that brings colour to the greyest day. The soft, blurred edges of each shape give the pattern its signature movement, as if the colours were still dissolving into the cloth. Inside, a vivid red lining.
The fabric is handwoven by master artisans on traditional hand looms in Uzbekistan, using the centuries-old technique in which each thread is resist-dyed before weaving. No two coats are ever identical. Cut and sewn in our atelier in Berlin.
